What is CoQ10?

CoQ10 or Coenzyme Q10 also known as Ubiquinone, is a naturally occurring substance and an essential component of the mitochondria which is the energy producing unit within all our cells. It is a vital nutrient that occurs naturally in our bodies. It is found in every cell throughout the body, with the highest levels of CoQ10 being found where energy is needed the most, such as the heart, kidneys, lungs and liver.

The CoQ10 used in Revive Active Super Supplement is ubiquinone. We use ubiquinone in Revive Active as it is more stable in powder form than ubiquinol.

As we get older, from about the age of 30, our bodies produce less CoQ10 and certain medical conditions can also reduce the levels in our body.

What is CoQ10 good for?

CoQ10 plays a number of roles in the body. It is a powerful antioxidant that protects cells and fights against the oxidative damage caused by free radicals.

It is also vital for the growth and maintenance of cells and is important for metabolism.

CoQ10 is well recognised for the role it plays in supporting your energy. It is needed to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which helps energy transfer within our cells.

When the body’s store of CoQ10 is depleted, the production of ATP decreases. Cells are also more prone to the destructive effects of free radicals and oxidative stress.

Where can I get CoQ10 from?

The good news is we can increase our intake of CoQ10 through certain foods, such as organ meat (like liver and kidneys), oily fish, whole grains and through supplementation.

CoQ10 is a hero ingredient in our Revive Active super supplement. One of 26 active ingredients in Revive Active’s scientific blend, specially formulated to boost your energy and immune system, help protect your heart and support fertility and reproduction.

Each Revive Active powdered sachet contains 150mg of CoQ10 for a powerful daily dose of this vital nutrient.
